REVIEW: MAC Spiked Eyebrow Pencil

Hi there flawless!

Today, I wanted to do a review on my all time favorite eyebrow pencil. And by all time, I mean this stuff is the bomb digity dooh dah of eyebrow products. I discovered this while watching a few youtube videos and I realized that a ton of my favorite youtube gurus own this product! So, evidently, I decided I should pick up this product that everyone was raving about. What is this eyebrow product of the Heavens you ask? It is the MAC Eyebrow Pencil in the shade "Spiked". It is available at most Department stores that carry MAC products as well as

As a disclaimer, everyone's eyebrows are their own unique shade. Spike so happens to be the perfect color for my eyebrow hairs that appear most natural. MAC carries a wide variety of shades to choose from so make sure you ask one of their professional makeup artists to distinguish which shade fits you most!

Size of pencil and swatch color of "Spiked"

This pencil cost $16.00+sales tax. I have a dark brown hair so the shade "Spiked" suited me best. I love how pigmented MAC products are. Since spiked is more of a deep brown shade, I don't have to use so much force to create the perfect brow, hence not wasting the product. The makeup artist at MAC told me that it is a wax product so it is long lasting and waterproof. It is also only twist up. This product does not twist back down so fair warning. I love how a light feathery hand can create a natural beautiful brow that doesn't look fake or strange.

I hope you all enjoyed this review, let me know if there are any other products you want a review on!

Recipe: Gluten Free Brownies! (Black Bean Brownies)

Hi everyone!

This year, I've become more aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I used to devour chips and processed junk that tasted delicious, but was toxic for my body. Over the summer, I developed healthy eating habits and a consistent workout "routine". Now, I control my portions, eat (mostly) vegan, gluten-free, and as raw as possible. In other words, I try to eat as clean as I can. Alongside with being more active and putting on my running shoes, I've lost a total of 20 pounds since the summer time. I am proud of my accomplishments and motivated to continue live a healthy lifestyle. If you want more information on my weight loss, or anything alongside my "diet" and nutrition or working out, let me know and I'll be happy to share it with you!

Anyways, today I wanted to share a recipe that I saw on MeghanRosette's youtube channel, which is recipe for Black Bean Brownies! Now, I know the name is scary, but trust me, if you're someone who is eating clean and staying away from processed chocolates and fatty foods full of refined sugar and butter, then these brownies are perfect for you!

I can of Black Beans
-1/4 Cup Coco Powder
-10-12 Tablespoons or 3/4 of a cup Stevia (or any other sweetener)
-1/2 Cup of Apple Sauce
-3 Eggs (or 9 egg whites)
-1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
-Pinch of Salt
-Chocolate Chips

1.) Preheat ove to 350 degrees
2.) Drain Black Beans
3.) Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth (besides for chocolate chips)
4.) Place into a baking dish and bake for 30 minutes, check every 5 minutes
5.) Cool for 15 minutes and serve!

I hope you all enjoyed this healthy recipe, let me know how yours turned out! Please note, even though these brownies are way more healthy than typical brownies, they are only healthy in moderation!

I know it's been a while since my last post, but let me tell you. THIS SCHOOL YEAR IS HECTIC! Anywhos, I was browsing through the wonderful internet, and I saw the most glorious thing every. The URBAN DECAY NAKED 3 PALETTE! It features 12 new and never-seen-before shades in this beautiful metallic-faced palette.

Fall 2013 Trend Color: Cobalt Blue

Hello pretty!

I absolutely love the fall season, not just because my birthday's in October, but because of cider mills, chilly breezes, color changing leaves, haunted houses, and of course...sweater weather. I've been buying and wearing sweaters like crazy, literally! I can't get enough of the ever-so-cute sweater+leggings+ugg/emu boots combination! I put together an outfit I wore the other day and hopefully it inspires you for fall outfits! Cobalt is the trending color for Fall 2013, so make sure to stock up on a lot of this vibrant hue!

Review: Maybelline "Big Eyes"?

Hello everyone!

As requested, today on this beautiful afternoon I'm going to sit outside and enjoy a cup of lemon water and talk about the somewhat new Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara which falls under the "falsies" category. Now, when I saw this mascara on blogs and youtube I was so excited because first, I love every Maybelline mascara I own, and one of my all time favorite mascaras is the original Falsies. There's always a point in life where you get disappointed, whether it's with people, school, work, and in my case, mascara.

I don't really like this mascara.

If you noticed in the above statement, I didn't use the word "hate". I don't hate this mascara. I said I don't really like this mascara. If I were to rate it I'd give it a C. Being generous, I didn't add a minus sign to this letter grade.

So you're probably wondering why I didn't rate this mascara an A or a B. But before I let you know, I just wanted to make a disclaimer and say that this is just my opinion. You're entitled to you're own opinion, but this is what happened to me when I used this mascara.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara in Very Black $7.99 at Ulta.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara in Very Black

Claims and ingredients. Click to enlarge
If you read the claims, you could probably understand why I was so excited to make this purchase! However, it didn't turn out as well as I was expecting which is probably why I ended up disappointed. The mascara went on somewhat dry and I had to apply multiple layers on my top lashes to achieve the "falsies" look that I would've gotten in 2 strokes with my original falsies. However, keep in mind that my ethnicity is Asian, and I have short, sparse lashes. For the bottom lashes, the small brush didn't collect product at all. I loved the idea of a separate brush for my lower lashes with a smaller brush, but it seemed as though no product at all was being transfered onto my lashes so no color or length was added.

Maybelline Volum' Express the Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara upper lash brush
Maybelline Volum' Express the Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara lower lash brush
In conclusion, I was mostly upset with this product just because it did not meet my expectations.

Review: Revlon Photo Ready BB Cream Skin Perfector SPF 30 in Light/Medium

Hi beautifuls!

As summer is coming to an end, I wanted to get some new beauty products that I thought would be nice for the upcoming (school) year. I did a LOT of back to school shopping for clothes, school supplies, and...this is my first week with my Mac Book Pro 13" laptop! I am so excited because I am a HUGE fan of Apple products so this laptop is a new addition to my Apple product "collection", if you will.

One of the beauty products I purchased about a week and a half ago was the Revlon Photoready BB Cream in the shade light/medium. I was going to do post this right then and there, but I wanted to give it at least a week of trial to see if I like it or not.

I purchased mine at an Ulta nearby alongside with other drugstore products so I spent a little over $30 in total so I was able to use my $3.50 off $10 purchase coupon they send me via mail, or you can go online to to print one out! This BB cream was $10.99 and I purchased this in the shade light/medium as I noted earlier. I already have 3 drugstore BB creams: Maybelline Dream Fresh, L'Oreal Magic BB Cream, and the Cover Girl BB Cream (although this one really classified as a tinted moisturizer under the title "BB Cream"). I have a review on the Cover Girl BB Cream as well as my overview on what a BB Cream is, so if you want to read it click here.

Revlon Photoready BB Cream in Light/Medium $10.99
The Claims:

A lightweight, multi-benefit Beauty Balm by Revlon that combines skincare, makeup, and sunscreen into one step.

  • HYDRATES like moisturizer
  • SMOOTHES like primer
  • COVERS like foundation
  • BLURS FLAWS like concealer
  • PROTECTS with SPF 30 like sunscreen
  • Source:

To be 100% honest with you, I don't think ANY BB Cream from the U.S is a "BB Cream". I think they are just multifunctional tinted moisturizers. In my opinion, the only "real" BB Creams come from Asia because theirs are true to purpose, to create a flawless complexion with skincare benefits derived from extracts, etc. However, I am glad that the drugstore in the U.S sell "BB Creams" because they are great face products (multifunctional tinted moisturizers).

With this particular BB Cream, I did find it hydrating it is somewhat heavy. If you have oily skin like I do, this might be a turn off because it makes us Oily skin people feel even oilier. You can definitely feel this product on your skin and unfortunately it doesn't go away. However, I think this would be perfect for the winter time when my skin gets drier.

This didn't have a primer texture or consistency, but it did go on smoothly. It may or may not have a built in primer I do not know for sure, but this BB cream does last for a good day or so

It does not have a foundation level coverage. It has a little more coverage than the Cover Girl tinted moisturizer/BB Cream, but it was not "foundation" coverage. It did even out my skin tone, but the redness around my nose, and some spots on my face were visible.

Again, like I said above, this product doesn't have high coverage, it just evens out my skintone so I wouldn't say it is "like a concealer".

I love how this product has SPF 30 because it is additional sun protection that you might've forgotten in your skin care routine.

    Swatch, shade: Light/Medium
The product comes out like a thick moisturizer, but not a cream. On my hand it looks fairly light, but here is how it appears once it's blended out a bit:

    Blended out
I didn't blend it completely but I did enough so you could see how dewy it looks as well as how it blends with my skintone. I really like this because I can mix it with a darker shade, or use it during those awkward 1/2 slightly tan 1/2 pale days.

Overall, I do like this product. I wish it was a bit lighter, but I don't mind it so much. I love how it looks on my skin, it evens everything out and makes my skin look flawless. I would purchase it again but it wouldn't be the first item on my list to go shopping for.

Review: Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balm in Cantaloupe Cream

    Hi beautiful!

I hope you all had a great week! I'm not ready for summer to be over, I have so much to get done before the school starts! Anywhos, I went to Ulta and finally found the  Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balms. I was super excited when I saw it because I have heard so many great things about this moisturizing lip glosses! I picked up the shade Cantaloupe Cream because I felt like it was a very pretty kind of coral/peachy shade that would be perfect for the summer as well as spring! I wasn't expecting them to be super pigmented like a liquid lipstick so I thought it would be a perfect natural shade.

I purchased one for $5.99+tax at my local Ulta, but since I purchased other things that totaled more than $10, I was able to use a $3.50 off $10 purch. coupon that they sent me with their catalogue, so make sure you become a member to get sent those great deals! Otherwise, there's always a coupon on their website so you can always go to to check that out.

They state that this product is highly moisturizing and hydrating for your lips because of Vitamin E and oils such as avocado oil. It is also stated that this product will add color and is also in fact gluten-free, and hypoallergenic.

*On the website, the color of "Cantaloupe Cream" is not true to color. The website shows a really vibrant and bright coral shade, but below is a more peachy, almost milky peach/coral color.

Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balm in Cantaloupe Cream
    The Claims:
ALMAY color + care liquid lip balm
    • Drenches lips with 2x hydration
    • Sheer shiny color
    • Combines the comfort and care of a balm with the flirty color and shine of a gloss
    • Instantly more than doubles lip hydration so lips feel twice as moisturized after use
    • Nearly triples lip hydration when worn throughout the day
    • Nourishes lips with oils like avocado and vitamin E
    • Available in 10 shades

#700 in the shade Cantaloupe Cream
The color swatched on my wrist is a beautiful and fun peachy shade, almost coral. Before blending it out the color pigmentation appears very rich, dense, and creamy.
When I blended it it because more sheer and very shiny, especially when worn on the lips. It is still the peachy/corally shade.

This is the applicator. It is a soft and basic doe-footed applicator.

The ingredients list, if this image is hard to see, click to enlarge it. Otherwise, I will post the ingredients list below.

Polybutene, Petrolatum, Synthetic Flourphlogopite, Tribehenin, C10-30 Cholesterol, Lanosterol Esters, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower ) Seed Oil, Cera Alba ((Beeswax) cire d abeille), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Calcium aluminum Borosilicate, Palmitic Acid, Synthetic Wax, Aroma ((Flavor), Benzoic Acid, BHT.

MAY CONTAIN: Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Red 6 Lake (CI 15850), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Carmine (CI 75470), Blue 1 Lake (CI 47090), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Red 33 (CI 17200), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985).

Almay is known for having hypoallergenic products, which is a total bonus for me. I didn't have any kind of reaction to this product and I love it! It is super moisturizing, and the color is very sheer and light, but noticeable. The sheer peachy/coral shade really brightens up my face giving me a somewhat "glow". I feel as though this is perfect for school, or just going out since it is more on the natural side. It really is true to what it says, a liquid lip balm. I can't wait to purchase more!

Review: Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara

    Hello beautifuls!

So, I was requested to do a review on my favorite drugstore mascara, and I was actually super excited to do this post because my favorite drugstore mascara is one of my holy grail beauty products. If you want a post on my favorite high-end mascara, then I'll be sure to do a post on it as well! My favorite drugstore mascara is none other than the Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara (Maybelline Falsies for short).

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara $5.00-$8.00, prices vary by location
    The Claims:
    More visible lashesNew
    • Fills in the gaps
    • Instant volume
    • Spoon brush
    • False lash effect
    • with Pro-Kera + Fibers
    • Ophthalmologist Tested
    • Contact Lens Safe
Unique flexible wand helps to lift and separate lashes to provide the look of more lashes.
Patented Spoon brush and Kera-fiber formula instantly build 5x more volume without clumping to complete the false lash look.
    Made in U.S.A.

I think it's important if you all knew the type of lashes I have. I have short and sparse lashes..."asian" eyelashes, if you will. When it comes to mascara I look for 3 important factors; length, volume, and wear. This mascara has both positive and negative reviews. As you can see, I have 2 more tubes behind my newly purchased one. This just shows how much I'm obsessed with this mascara. Now, if you're someone who piles mascara on like you want to use one tube per lash, then of course this mascara will clump. I apply just 2-3 coats of this mascara and WOW-E does this mascara not only provide great volume, length and since I purchased the waterproof formula it lasts all day even underwater, but if you purchase it in Very Black, then you are settled with a gorgeous dark black color that really makes your eyes pop!

    Until Next Time,

BB Cream for hair? Review: Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 BB Creme

    Hey beautifuls!

So, I went online recently to one of my favorite websites and I stumbled upon a post talking about a BB cream for hair. I just wanted to share my opinion, if that's alright!

So, I knew about BB creams way before I knew much about makeup because my cousin used it and she's from Asia. BB creams have now reached the US and no offense to some of my favorite companies, but some just claim their product is a BB cream and hopped on the bandwagon without actually creating a BB cream but a tinted moisturizer. It's kind of upsetting.

Anyways, about the Pantene BB cream, it's $5.99 on and it's supposed to be a 10-in-1 miracle hair product.

    Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 BB Creme $5.99

    The Claims:

Multi Tasker Repairs, Smoothes, Boosts Shine & More
10 Solutions for flawlessly healthy hair:
    • Repair for rough hair
    • Strength against damage
    • Silky Softness
    • Brilliant Shine
    • Smoothing
    • Moisture
    • Frizz Control
    • Gentle Cleaning
    • Manageability
    • Detangling
Since 1945, Pantene has had a commitment to healthy hair.  Our enriched formulas contain Pro-Vitamins.  Hair so healthy it shines.  Multi-tasking formula with Pro-Vitamins.  Inspired by skincare’s multi-tasking BB Cream phenomenon, Ultimate 10 performs multiple actions for healthy hair and a polished look.
    Made in USA

I feel like the word "BB cream" is getting too misused in the states, but that's just my opinion. I would feel more intrigued with this product if they didn't put "BB" on the label. It seems more as a multi-purpose styling product, which is basically what is is.

I haven't purchased it, but I will do a full review if I do!

    Elf Cosmetics Haul!

    Hello beautifuls!

So yesterday, I took a trip to Target and I finally found ELF! I always wanted to purchase something from this brand but I could never find it at any of the Target locations that are nearby me. I purchased 2 products that I really wanted to try out by their brand which is their Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia, as well as their Eyebrow Kit in Medium.

Left: E.l.f Eyebrow Kit in Medium
Right: E.l.f Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia
Each of these products by E.l.f were $3.00+tax which is really amazing being that the quality is very nice! The packaging reminds me of the NARS products and it's super affordable! I can't wait to use the blush because it's such a beautiful rosy/pink/coral shade all in one with some shimmer which is perfect for the springtime! It really reminds me of NARS Orgasm.

How I Remove My Makeup & The Products I Use!

    Hey guys!

I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in a while and it's no one's fault but mine. I've been dealing with a lot. And by a lot, I mean a lot. I'll probably do a separate post on it or maybe a video soon, but for now, I thought I'd post about how I remove my makeup and the products I use!

Okay, so the first thing I do is address the situation. I know I'm probably making it sound like a life or death situation, but you need to address the situation! If you have a ton of eye makeup on, then you'll need more things to remove it with, capiche?

I typically remove my makeup right after school so that I don't have my makeup on all day and I can have breathable skin.

The first thing I use is the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes . These babies remove visible foundation and makeup that isn't crazy crazy waterproof. I take one wipe and remove all the surface makeup. However, it doesn't remove everything deep in your pores.

So, after I use the remover wipe, then I take my Korres Milk Proteins 3-in-1 Cleansing, Toning, and Eye-Makeup removing Emulsion with a round cotton pad and wipe it all over my face. Literally, this will show you how much makeup is still left in your pores! I love this stuff! Even though I have oily-combo skin, it doesn't make my skin super oily, it actually balances it out and makes it in fact less oily!

If I have extra eye makeup or coats and coats of waterproof eye makeup, then I would use an eye makeup remover, such as the Lancome Bi-Facial Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover or the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover  which are two amazing eye makeup removers!

After, I use my Olay Pro-X brush with a cleanser that I enjoy. Recently, that cleanser is the Neutrogena Oil-Free Pink Grapefruit Scrub. Holy chicken cannolis. This stuff feels so good on my skin and smells amazing! It really keeps my skin clear I love it!

So that's my makeup removing routine, I hope it maybe gave you some times or advice on you could remove your makeup!

Review: Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser

    Hello gorgeous!

As mid-winter break comes to an end for me, I was in need of a new cleanser! So, I stopped by my nearest drugstore and picked up the new Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser. It was $7.99 the last time I checked

Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser $7.99
     The Claims

    product information
Add this cleanser to your morning regimen for a fresh and deep clean:

    • Removes 2x more dirt, oil and makeup vs. basic cleansing
    • Kaolin clay lifts away impurities and helps minimize shine
    • Deep cleansing action for a fresher feel

*Click on the images to enhance and zoom.
    *The ingredient's list and claims.

After using it, I feel like this cleanser is suitable for people who have my skin-type, Combination-Oily. If you have Combination skin-Very Oily skin I feel like this cleanser is going to be great for you! Kaolin clay is a very powerful oil absorbing ingredient! I feel really refreshed after using this cleanser. If you have dry-skin I think it'll be too drying for you. As for shine control, I only used this a few times so I wouldn't really know because I've only used it on days when I haven't worn makeup. I'll do an update post soon though!

Overall, I feel like this is a great cleanser for those with combination/oily skin type, even normal skin.

    Until Next Time,

    Sigma Brush Spa Glove+Coupon Code

    Hello beautiful!

I'm currently writing my updated skincare routine right now, but I was watching one of my favorite youtube guru's, MakeupByTiffanyD, and she made a new video on how she cleans her brushes and it reminded me that I had to clean mine as well. She featured a cool new tool from Sigma, which I received an email about previously, and it is called the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove. It is available on for $39.00 and is available in 4 different colors, purple, pink, black, and aqua.

Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove in Pink, Aqua, Purple and Black. $39.00

Personally, I feel like cleaning my brushes (I have a lot) is a pain in the butt. It's fun for the first couple brushes, but once you hit 20, you wish you were doing something else, #justspeakingthetruth. This product seems so interesting and cool and can make washing your brushes easier and more efficient. It's $39.00 and  if you'd like to purchase it, I have a 10% off coupon code for you all, which can shave off about $4.00.(:

    Happy Shopping!

Review: Maybelline Color Sensational Color Whisper Lipcolor

    Hello Beautiful!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted a blog post or video in a really long time! I promise, I haven't forgotten about any of you!

Maybelline Color Sensational Color Whisper Lipcolor in:
Left: Petal Rebel and Right: Pink Possibilities.
My Purse: Guess Canary Small Satchel

Recently, I went to Ulta and purchased two (2) of the new Maybelline Color Sensational Color Whisper Lipcolors in Pink Possibilities and Petal Rebel. They were $7.49 each and are literally amazing! Personally, I like the shade Pink Possibilities way better than Petal Rebel, just because Petal Rebel looks too washed out on me.
Left: Petal Rebel and Right: Pink Possibilities

    The Claims:

Dare to Whisper. Get truly translucent gel color from Color Whisper by Color Sensational from Maybelline. Pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel deliver sexy, soft, see through color with a touch of shine, without the heavy waxes & oils found in traditional lipcolor.

They do feel very light on the lips and glide effortlessly. However, I don't feel like they have a gel-like texture and are certainly not translucent on the lips. When I swatched them on my hands, they appeared sheer, but on my lips they produced a decent amount of color.

Left: Petal Rebel , Right: Pink Possibilites
In comparison to the Revlon Lip Butters, which I love as well, they are definitely less pigmented and less creamy. Between the two, one isn't better than the other because they're two different types of lip products. I love both of them and will definitely be purchasing both in the future! They are slightly more pigmented than the L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Balms.
