HEALTHY GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE that actually TASTES GOOD (ft. Sari Foods)

Hello everyone!

I know what you're thinking, "EW GREEN JUICES LOOK LIKE SEWAGE WASTE". And I'm going to be completely honest, 2 years ago, I thought the exact same thing. However, ever since I made a lifestyle change (eating healthy, working out, being conscience of what I'm doing to my body), I began to explore the realm of wholesome ingredients that I need to incorporate into my diet. I recently got my own Nutribullet, and I absolutely love it! You can make pretty much anything you want with it...smoothies, nice cream, soups, dressings, shakes, doughs...anything!

Today, I wanted to share with you a nutrient-packed, vitamin potent, smoothie that tastes absolutely fruity and delicious! I drink it mostly once a day! It's a vibrant green shade because of the Spirulina Powder by Sari Foods inside of it. It also contains a blast of extra Vitamin C because of the Vitamin C Powder by Sari Foods. These two products can be purchased on amazon (http://amzn.to/18fiZ2p and http://amzn.to/1DIv25g) Let me tell you why I chose these products to put into daily green smoothie!

Sari Food's Organic Spirulina Powder contains only 100% organic, pure spirulina powder. Spirulina is one of the top superfoods that is starting to get a lot of attention with celebrities, models, and even people at home who want to keep their body in prime condition! it benefits the inside of your body (digestion, detoxification, cell generation, etc.) as well as the outside of your body (skin, hair, figure, nails, etc.) Click here for full details on Sari Food's Organic Spirulina Powder

The Claims:
  • OPTIMIZE YOUR HEALTH WITH NATURE'S MOST PERFECT MULTIVITAMIN. With over 100 naturally occurring and bioavailable vitamins & nutrients, Sari Foods Spirulina contains more than 60% protein and is a non-synthetic source of iron, calcium, magnesium, selenium, beta-carotine, B12, chlorophyll, phytonutrients, antioxidants and essential amino acids (GLA, Omega 3, 6 & 9s).
  • STRENGTHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM. Organic Spirulina is the most nutrient dense food known to humankind and works miracles in the body by helping to balance your pH and reduce Inflammation - which is the root of most disease. This nutritional content is immuno-amazing!
  • FIGHT AGING & FREE RADICALS. This miracle from the sea has more antioxidant activity than 5 servings of fruits and vegetables and 3900% more beta carotene than carrots, packing a powerful antioxidant punch that promotes skin health and cell regeneration while providing protection from cell-damaging molecules absorbed by the body through pollution, poor diet, injury, or stress.
  • IMPROVE ENERGY, MOOD & METABOLISM. Organic Spirulina elevates your energy by unlocking sugar from your cells so it does not get stored as fat. The deep green color of Spirulina comes from a high concentration of Chlorophyll which absorbs its pure energy from sunlight and is considered nature's most effective energy booster, giving you instant and all-day energy.

Sari Food's Organic Spirulina Powder can be purchased here for only $23.95 for a 16 oz bag!

Sari Food's Organic Vitamin C Powder is derived from Acerola Cherries, a high source of Vitamin C (Equivalent to 65 oranges!) It is 100% food based and natural. Vitamin C is very good for your body, just like Spirulina Powder. It aids in absorption of nutrients, which is why I love to use it in conjunction with my Spirulina Powder, so that all of the vitamins and minerals are fully absorbed. Click here for full details on Sari Food's Organic Vitamin C Powder.

The Claims:

  • PRIORITIZE LONG TERM HEALTH WITH NATURAL OVER SYNTHETIC. Many Vitamin C supplements (like ascorbic acid and calcium ascorbate) contain isolated and/or synthetic vitamin C that is highly toxic and may cause you more harm than good. Sari Foods 100% food based vitamin C is nature's complete complex, providing you with all of the benefits of this miracle vitamin without compromising your body or health. And rest assured, our Vitamin C powder is also organic!
  • REDUCE THE SEVERITY & DURATION OF COLDS. Natural Vitamin C is the missing piece of the puzzle to your body's immune system, offering protection against colds and reducing the threat of nearly every virus known to man. Vitamin C is also a natural antihistamine which means it even helps keep allergies, asthma and inflammation in check!
  • TURN BACK TIME. Vitamin C plays an important role in collagen production and cell regeneration, anti-aging's two greatest secrets, helping to reduce wrinkles as your skin retains greater elasticity and firmness.
  • PROTECT YOURSELF. With extreme antioxidant activity, Organic Vitamin C fights free radicals, protecting you from the cell-damaging molecules absorbed by the body through pollution, poor diet, injury, or stress. Sufficient levels of vitamin C are also required for the synthesis of stress hormones (like adrenaline), which plays a crucial role in countering the ill effects of stress.
  • GUARD AGAINST DISEASE. Since our body doesn't produce it, natural Vitamin C is the most important vitamin you can consume for optimal health as it is shown to help reduce many degenerative conditions.
  • Source: amazon.com
Sari Food's Organic Vitamin C Powder can be purchased here for only $29.95 for a 6 oz bag!

What I love about Sari Foods is that they only use whole foods to make their products (no additives, gmo's...or any other unnecessary garbage) Their products are natural, high quality and not as expensive as the ones you can find at health food stores. They also offer free shipping on their products via amazon! The only thing I have to mention, is that the packaging is very difficult to close. So, I suggest placing your opened bags inside a larger ziploc bag so that it won't get everywhere.

    So, onwards to the recipe!

    Ingredients:
    -Fresh, Organic Spinach
    -Handful of Organic Mango Chunks
    -3 pieces of Pineapple Chunks
-1 Tblspoon Sari Food's Spirulina Powder
    -1 Tsp. Sari Food's Vitamin C Powder

Recipe: Gluten Free Brownies! (Black Bean Brownies)

    Hi everyone!

This year, I've become more aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I used to devour chips and processed junk that tasted delicious, but was toxic for my body. Over the summer, I developed healthy eating habits and a consistent workout "routine". Now, I control my portions, eat (mostly) vegan, gluten-free, and as raw as possible. In other words, I try to eat as clean as I can. Alongside with being more active and putting on my running shoes, I've lost a total of 20 pounds since the summer time. I am proud of my accomplishments and motivated to continue live a healthy lifestyle. If you want more information on my weight loss, or anything alongside my "diet" and nutrition or working out, let me know and I'll be happy to share it with you!

Anyways, today I wanted to share a recipe that I saw on MeghanRosette's youtube channel, which is recipe for Black Bean Brownies! Now, I know the name is scary, but trust me, if you're someone who is eating clean and staying away from processed chocolates and fatty foods full of refined sugar and butter, then these brownies are perfect for you!

    Ingredients:

    - I can of Black Beans
    -1/4 Cup Coco Powder
-10-12 Tablespoons or 3/4 of a cup Stevia (or any other sweetener)
    -1/2 Cup of Apple Sauce
-3 Eggs (or 9 egg whites)
    -1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
    -Pinch of Salt
    -Chocolate Chips
    Directions:

1.) Preheat ove to 350 degrees
    2.) Drain Black Beans
3.) Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth (besides for chocolate chips)
4.) Place into a baking dish and bake for 30 minutes, check every 5 minutes
5.) Cool for 15 minutes and serve!

I hope you all enjoyed this healthy recipe, let me know how yours turned out! Please note, even though these brownies are way more healthy than typical brownies, they are only healthy in moderation!

    Until Next Time,
    xoxo

Dying My Hair For The First Time! Feat. Clairol Natural Instincts

    Hey guys!

So a couple days ago, I died my hair! I bought a regular ol' box dye from Ulta and it's the Clairol Natural Instincts in Medium Auburn (Raspberry Creme) $8.69. I was drawn to this specific dye because it said it was less damaging than most hair dyes, and was ammonia free. The word "natural" really drew me into the product. It's supposed to last up to 28 shampoo washes, and it also comes with a refresher, or as they called it. After 2 weeks has passed, you apply this product in your hair, leave it in for 5-10 minutes, and then it's suppose to "refresh" or "re-color" your hair. I have yet to try that product out!

    The Claims:

This Level 2 hair color is formulated with 100% pure aloe, chamomile, and ginseng to condition hair during coloring. This ammonia-free formula enhances color and shine, but does not lighten hair. If unsure on a shade, choose a shade lighter than your current color. Kit includes: No Amonia Colorant, Developing Lotion, Deep Conditioning Treatment with Aloe, Simple Application Instructions, Professional Gloves.

    From: Ulta.com

Clairol Natural Instincts in Raspberry Creme $8.69
Since my hair is naturally dark dark brown, the color didn't fully turn out like this. However, after leaving the dye in for 10 minutes, my hair was a noticeably beautiful burgundy-cherry-chocolate color (So slightly darker than the color shown above). It's most noticeable in the light. It looks ahmazing! When I swish my hair it looks like red. Fire!

Selfie(: Day 2, and I crimped my hair!

Overall I am happy with how it turned out, how easy the application was, and just the product in general!

    Until Next Time,
    xoxo

Ulta Exclusive Benefit Falalala Flawless Set. Review: the POREfessional, BADgal Waterproof Mascara, Some Kind Of Gorgeous in Lite

    Hello beauties!

Recently, on Black Friday, I purchased the Benefit Falalala Flawless set! It was $25.00 (+tax) at Ulta! I posted a link to the exclusive Black Friday ad on a previous post which did show the set in the ad. I believe today is the last day this product will be in stores so hurry on in to an Ulta store near you!

This set contains 3 full sized products! The reason for this purchase was for the POREfessional face primer. That primer runs for $30 by itself. To get 2 full sized products that were $19 (BADgal Waterproof Mascara) and $30 (Some Kind of Gorgeous in Lite) with the POREfessional ($30) for $25+tax was an amazing deal! I was super happy to pick up one on my Ulta trip!

*Click on the pictures to enlarge*

Benefit the POREfessional face primer ($30.00)
This is a really silky-smooth face primer that comes out of the tube a gel-like flesh tone color, but goes on the skin really smoothly and transparent. I really like this product. A primer isn't necessary. It's more of a luxury product. However, I happen to really like using a face primer after my moisturizer, before my face makeup.

    Product Description:

    What it is:
A PRO balm that minimizes the appearance of pores.

    What it does:
The POREfessional quickly minimizes the appearance of pores. Apply this silky, lightweight balm to achieve translucent pore coverage and smoother-than-smooth skin. Pores—now you see 'em, now you don't!

What else you need to know:
    Oil-free. Instructions included.

    Credit: Sephora.com

I feel like this product lives up to the claims. It doesn't feel heavy, and it makes my skin look flawless! I really like this product and will be repurchasing this product once it's finished.

    Benefit BADgal Waterproof Mascara ($19.00)
The wand on this mascara is much more smaller than the BADgal original (non-waterproof).

    Product Description:

    What it is:
    A waterproof black mascara.

    What it does:
Benefit BADgal Waterproof Mascara has a smudge-proof, tear-proof, and long-wearing formula combined with a custom brush that spirals around the stem to lift, curl, and separate every lash. Get ready for lashes with a little more oomph and a lot more drama.

When I first saw this mascara, I thought it wouldn't separate my mascara because the wand wasn't a rubber wand. However, this mascara did separate my lashes, lengthen them, and add volume! The color is a really nice black, not gray, black. It didn't clump and one thing I loved about this mascara was that it wasn't hard! When you apply a couple coats, your lashes don't feel like there's anything on! A good dupe for this mascara would be the Maybelline Full N' Soft mascara. I usually apply my favorite mascara primer (Lancome Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base $23.00) before applying mascara. This mascara didn't smudge, but I'm not so sure about the waterproof claim being that I didn't go swimming in it or anything. It's really nice for everyday. I have a lot of mascara, no joke probably 30 tubes all in one drawer, and this one was another really nice addition to my drawer! Even though I like this one, I love drugstore mascaras that are a lot cheaper and work just as great, I probably won't repurchase it just because it's not incredible. It's just good.

Benefit Some Kind Of Gorgeous in Lite ($30.00)
At first, I thought that this was a setting powder. But once I opened it, I found out it was a cream-to-powder type makeup. In the packaging it's a cream, but once it touches skin it feels more like a creamish powder.

    Product Description:

    What it is:
    A sheer, oil-free, cream-to-powder complexion perfector.

What it is formulated to do:
This lightweight, translucent, foundation-like product smoothes out imperfections and evens skin tone with a silky, smooth finish that's super natural and super gorgeous.

When I first applied this product, it looked a tad bit light to my slightly tanned skin. Once it was blended though, it matched my skintone. It works great as a "concealer" for blemishes. I'm not so sure how to apply it because I hate using the sponge applicators some products come with. I heard some people just use their fingers, which is what I'm probably going to end up doing. I don't think I would like this for a full-face cover makeup. I think I would just like to use this for a spot coverage makeup that I want if I don't want a lot of makeup on. it doesn't come with a ton of product actually, the packaging is sightly deceiving. This product is really nice, but it isn't a huge hit with me. I do like it though, I think I'm going to give myself more time and uses before actually saying whether I like it or not.

So that is my review on this set as well as the products! I hope you enjoyed this post!

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Spoiler! And First JuicyCouture.com Order!

    Hello gorgeous!

Today has been a really eventful day! I went to go see Breaking Dawn Part 2 and HOLY CHICKENCANOLIES IT WAS AMAZING. The ending was a real twist! It made my heart literally stop for a whole scene! Okay, so if you DO NOT want to find out what happens at the end of this movie than just skip right to the bottom where I talk about an amazing purchase I made on juicycouture.com, but if you DO want to find out what happens, then keep on reading. Okay, so in the end the Volturi has gathered people on one side, and the Cullens, as well as the Wolves and the Cullen's relatives and friends are on another side. Alice goes up to talk to Aro to convince him that Renesmee is not an immortal child. She holds his hand and shows him the future and how the child is not a threat, but Aro ends up wanting to attack. The Volturi grabs Alice and Carlisle runs after her yelling let go. He goes by a couple Volturi until Aro and Carlisle leap in the air to attack and Aro lands on the ground throwing Carlisle body on the ground and he is holding Carlisle's head (ergo, he killed Carlisle). Esmee screams, and there is a huge riot fight. The fight scene literally made me sit at the end of my seat and I was rooting for everyone to kill the Volturi. Jasper got his head ripped off and Alice screams (Jasper died). A wolf got strangled to death, and Jade (Dakota Fanning) her brother? I think, and another main Volturi character gets killed. After more intensive battling, Bella and Edward attack Aro and kill him! Until...THAT WAS ALL A VISION ALICE HAD AND SHOWED ARO THE FUTURE. So, that means the whole Carlisle and Jasper dying didn't happen it was all a premise that Alice had and showed Aro. Aro gets scared and he and the whole Volturi clan leave.  It is such an amazing ending to the saga I was on the edge of tears when I saw Carlisle and Jasper "die".  I really hope they make a epilogue of some sort. After watching it I really wish I had a love life like Bella and Edward. Oh well.

    Anywhos...

I am super super excited to say that I just ordered my first juicycouture.com purchase literally 5 minutes ago! I purchased a daydreamer bag which has been on every single wish-list I've ever made and I finally decided to pull out my money and purchase it. A lot of people have the style I chose (the New Scottie Embroidery Daydreamer Bag). It is their most popular bag. I bought it in the Black rather than the Heather Prestige because I felt like I could pair it up with every outfit whether it's a formal occasion, or just for school. I really love the detailing of the bag as well! The leopard daydreamer was another one I was debating on purchasing, but I realized I needed a more staple classic purse.

Juicy Couture New Scottie Daydreamer Bag in Black $198.00

I was expecting this purse to be $300.00, but to find it for $198.00 it is definitely a good price for a designer purse! I have fell in love with it it is so cute!

There will always be other girls...

We've all heard the saying, "In a relationship, it's all about trust. You HAVE to trust your partner". But honestly, we can preach it all we want, but inside of us there's always going to be that little tiny itty bitty part that says, "well maybe.....blahblahblah". Whether it's trusting your boyfriend when he tells you he's not cheating on you when there are 2 really nice guys telling you he is and they're swearing and willing to show you proof, or if it's trusting him when he says that you look pretty, sometimes, it's his opinion and input that should matter and it is...all about trust.

And there will. I get EXTREMELY uncomfortable when I see another girl hug my boyfriend. Oh my goodness, it's not even explainable. You're standing there awkwardly, and then without knowing it, all of these thoughts and assumptions flow through your head. Does he like her? He liked her before didn't he? Is he going to break up with me? Or, when your best friend is texting him. He's talking to her way more than he's talking to me. He likes her, or liked her I don't know. He just used a winky face. OMG. Kill me now, he likes her. BUT, the thing is, they're just thoughts and assumptions. I overreact, I guess, to things. It's a natural occurrence that happens to me. I assume things too much, and I'm a girl. I get jealous. That's one thing my boyfriend doesn't like about me; the fact that I assume things way too much. I'm trying to fix this habit but when theres a pretty girl, and an amazing hot guy...you're bound to think something. But, I'm just letting it go. Okay, sure I might feel like shit sometimes but you have to trust your boyfriend. If he says there's no one else, then trust him no matter how much it bugs you.

    Until next time,
    xoxo

    Where Have I Been?

    Hey everyone!

I know, you probably already forgotten about me, but I haven't forgotten about you! I saw that my last post was on Feb. 29th! That's so long ago! I'm so sorry I haven't made a post in such a long time, I guess it's because I've been so busy and caught up on things that I didn't realize that I didn't update my blog! If you haven't noticed, I changed the URL and name of my blog to: www.vanessatiffanie.blogspot.com. I also got the design and everything redone and personalized! I am in love with the new layout and logo! Thank you Megan for everything!

So, let's start off with some new things about my life. I have a boyfriend! His name's Kyle, and he's amazing. I'm not sure if he'd want his picture floating around on the internet so I'm going to wait until I can post pictures of us, but we've been dating since Apr.14th which was the day of the school dance. Technically Mar.14th, but it didn't work out then, so we're giving it a 3rd shot. Since then, we've been going through some bumps but we're managing. I'm so happy and it's all to him! My best friend Molly and her boyfriend Joey have been dating since the 13th of April so we're a day apart on our anniversaries. It's such a coincidence that my best friend and I share anniversaries one day apart!

I went through 2 phone cases this month! For some reason, they all keep on breaking and cracking and what not. I just ordered a new one online! At first, I was going to order the one from Elle and Blair Fowler's Cell Phone Line from Cellairis, but they didn't have the color I wanted. The case looks identical to the Winter Glow Aquamarine case, but it's in purple.

So, I hope you all have a wonderful week, and I will be sure to post more often!

    xoxo
