BB Goes Body! Review: Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream

Hello beautiful!

I received an email from Jergens letting me know about their new BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream! It's BB Cream for your body! This innovative new product is hitting Target stores on December 29th, 2013! I believe they will be in other drugstores such as Walmart, CVS, etc. in 2014. They will be sold for $11.99+sales tax (Target). I'm super excited to purchase this lotion because I'm obsessed with anything "BB" related!

Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream

The Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream will be available in 2 "shades". If you have a lighter skin tone opt for the "All Light Skin Tones", if you fall between medium-deep skin tone then choose the "All Medium-Deep Skin Tones". This product isn't a self tanner like their Natural Glow products, but it provides a sheer "coverage", if you will. They claim to immediately hydrate and illuminate, and overtime even, firm, and correct your skin.

Each type of shade (All Light Skin Tones and All Medium-Deep Skin Tones) is specifically designed to target problematic areas that arise in various skin tones, so choose what fits you best!

The Claims:

A total body breakthrough

Jergens® BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream delivers flawless-looking skin with 5 visible benefits in just 5 days. This revolutionary body lotion goes on sheer, dries quickly, and works like a moisturizer to visibly improve your skin with every use.
INSTANTLY: HYDRATES - ILLUMINATES
IN 5 DAYS: EVENS - FIRMS - CORRECTS

What Can BB Do for Your Skin?

BB Body Cream delivers varying benefits depending on your skin tone. It goes on sheer and then adjusts differently to a range of shades.
See the chart below for the 5 beautifying benefits of BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream to choose the best BB for your skin.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette!

Hello pretty ladies!

I know it's been a while since my last post, but let me tell you. THIS SCHOOL YEAR IS HECTIC! I've been working hard to perform my best and undertaking a lot of extra circulars, and volunteer positions. Anywhos, I was browsing through the wonderful internet, and I saw the most glorious thing every. The URBAN DECAY NAKED 3 PALETTE! It features 12 new and never-seen-before shades in this beautiful metallic-faced palette.
Urban Decay Naked3 Palette

It's currently available only on urbandecay.com for $52.00 (USD); just like the other Naked palettes.

About the Urban Decay Naked3 Palette:
It’s finally here: the long-awaited follow-up Naked and Naked2 (two of the industry’s all-time bestselling palettes)! And this time around, we’re giving you a dozen NEW ways to get Naked. (Yes, we loaded this palette with 12 NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN shades.)

Choose from every finish imaginable: ultra-smooth mattes, gorgeous pearls and glimmering metallics. From the palest, shimmery pink to deep, warm black, these neutrals will make you want to get Naked all over again. Every shade features our Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability.

Naked3 includes a NEW double-ended shadow/blending brush AND an Eyeshadow Primer Potion sampler with resealable samples of all four formulas (original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Aging). Each sample holds about a week’s worth of Primer!

Our art-school-inspired tin case is a gorgeous rose-gold color (a subtle hint at the shades inside). Embossed on top with a big “Naked3” and cool facets that beg to be touched, it’s sure to inspire lots of jealous stares.

Fill Weight: 12 x 1.3 g / 12 x 0.05 oz

The color shades available in this palette are:

  • Strange (pale neutral pink matte-satin)
  • Dust (pale metallic pink shimmer w/ iridescent micro-glitter)
  • Burnout (light pinky-peach satin)
  • Limit (light dusty rose matte)
  • Buzz (metallic rose shimmer w/ silver micro-glitter)
  • Trick (light metallic pinky-copper shimmer w/ tonal micro-sparkle)
  • Nooner (metallic pinky-brown mate)
  • Liar (medium metallic mauve shimmer)
  • Factory (pinky-brown satin)
  • Mugshot (metallic taupe shimmer w/ slight pink shift)
  • Darkside (deep taupe-mauve satin)
  • Blackheart (smoky black matte w/ rosy red micro-sparkle)

I feel like this palette is unlike the other 2 Naked palettes. This new Naked 3 has a lot of pinky-metallicy shades. I personally like the Naked 2 palette better just because the color selection fits my personal taste.

Fall 2013 Trend Color: Cobalt Blue

Hello pretty!

I absolutely love the fall season, not just because my birthday's in October, but because of cider mills, chilly breezes, color changing leaves, haunted houses, and of course...sweater weather. I've been buying and wearing sweaters like crazy, literally! I can't get enough of the ever-so-cute sweater+leggings+ugg/emu boots combination! I put together an outfit I wore the other day and hopefully it inspires you for fall outfits! Cobalt is the trending color for Fall 2013, so make sure to stock up on a lot of this vibrant hue!

Review: Maybelline "Big Eyes"?

Hello everyone!

As requested, today on this beautiful afternoon I'm going to sit outside and enjoy a cup of lemon water and talk about the somewhat new Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara which falls under the "falsies" category. Now, when I saw this mascara on blogs and youtube I was so excited because first, I love every Maybelline mascara I own, and one of my all time favorite mascaras is the original Falsies. There's always a point in life where you get disappointed, whether it's with people, school, work, and in my case, mascara.

I don't really like this mascara.

If you noticed in the above statement, I didn't use the word "hate". I don't hate this mascara. I said I don't really like this mascara. If I were to rate it I'd give it a C. Being generous, I didn't add a minus sign to this letter grade.

So you're probably wondering why I didn't rate this mascara an A or a B. But before I let you know, I just wanted to make a disclaimer and say that this is just my opinion. You're entitled to you're own opinion, but this is what happened to me when I used this mascara.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara in Very Black $7.99 at Ulta.

Claims and ingredients. Click to enlarge
If you read the claims, you could probably understand why I was so excited to make this purchase! However, it didn't turn out as well as I was expecting which is probably why I ended up disappointed. The mascara went on somewhat dry and I had to apply multiple layers on my top lashes to achieve the "falsies" look that I would've gotten in 2 strokes with my original falsies. However, keep in mind that my ethnicity is Asian, and I have short, sparse lashes. For the bottom lashes, the small brush didn't collect product at all. I loved the idea of a separate brush for my lower lashes with a smaller brush, but it seemed as though no product at all was being transfered onto my lashes so no color or length was added.

In conclusion, I was mostly upset with this product just because it did not meet my expectations.

Until Next Time,

Review: Revlon Photo Ready BB Cream Skin Perfector SPF 30 in Light/Medium

Hi beautifuls!

As summer is coming to an end, I wanted to get some new beauty products that I thought would be nice for the upcoming (school) year. I did a LOT of back to school shopping for clothes, school supplies, and...this is my first week with my Mac Book Pro 13" laptop! I am so excited because I am a HUGE fan of Apple products so this laptop is a new addition to my Apple product "collection", if you will.

One of the beauty products I purchased about a week and a half ago was the Revlon Photoready BB Cream in the shade light/medium. I was going to do post this right then and there, but I wanted to give it at least a week of trial to see if I like it or not.

I purchased mine at an Ulta nearby alongside with other drugstore products so I spent a little over $30 in total so I was able to use my $3.50 off $10 purchase coupon they send me via mail, or you can go online to ulta.com to print one out! This BB cream was $10.99 and I purchased this in the shade light/medium as I noted earlier. I already have 3 drugstore BB creams: Maybelline Dream Fresh, L'Oreal Magic BB Cream, and the Cover Girl BB Cream (although this one really classified as a tinted moisturizer under the title "BB Cream"). I have a review on the Cover Girl BB Cream as well as my overview on what a BB Cream is, so if you want to read it click here.

Revlon Photoready BB Cream in Light/Medium $10.99
The Claims:

A lightweight, multi-benefit Beauty Balm by Revlon that combines skincare, makeup, and sunscreen into one step.

  • HYDRATES like moisturizer
  • SMOOTHES like primer
  • COVERS like foundation
  • BLURS FLAWS like concealer
  • PROTECTS with SPF 30 like sunscreen
  • Source: Ulta.com

To be 100% honest with you, I don't think ANY BB Cream from the U.S is a "BB Cream". I think they are just multifunctional tinted moisturizers. In my opinion, the only "real" BB Creams come from Asia because theirs are true to purpose, to create a flawless complexion with skincare benefits derived from extracts, etc. However, I am glad that the drugstore in the U.S sell "BB Creams" because they are great face products (multifunctional tinted moisturizers).

With this particular BB Cream, I did find it hydrating it is somewhat heavy. If you have oily skin like I do, this might be a turn off because it makes us Oily skin people feel even oilier. You can definitely feel this product on your skin and unfortunately it doesn't go away. However, I think this would be perfect for the winter time when my skin gets drier.

This didn't have a primer texture or consistency, but it did go on smoothly. It may or may not have a built in primer I do not know for sure, but this BB cream does last for a good day or so

It does not have a foundation level coverage. It has a little more coverage than the Cover Girl tinted moisturizer/BB Cream, but it was not "foundation" coverage. It did even out my skin tone, but the redness around my nose, and some spots on my face were visible.

Again, like I said above, this product doesn't have high coverage, it just evens out my skintone so I wouldn't say it is "like a concealer".

I love how this product has SPF 30 because it is additional sun protection that you might've forgotten in your skin care routine.

    Swatch, shade: Light/Medium
The product comes out like a thick moisturizer, but not a cream. On my hand it looks fairly light, but here is how it appears once it's blended out a bit:

    Blended out
I didn't blend it completely but I did enough so you could see how dewy it looks as well as how it blends with my skintone. I really like this because I can mix it with a darker shade, or use it during those awkward 1/2 slightly tan 1/2 pale days.

Overall, I do like this product. I wish it was a bit lighter, but I don't mind it so much. I love how it looks on my skin, it evens everything out and makes my skin look flawless. I would purchase it again but it wouldn't be the first item on my list to go shopping for.

    8/10

    Until Next Time,
    xoxo

Review: Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balm in Cantaloupe Cream

    Hi beautiful!

I hope you all had a great week! I'm not ready for summer to be over, I have so much to get done before the school starts! Anywhos, I went to Ulta and finally found the  Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balms. I was super excited when I saw it because I have heard so many great things about this moisturizing lip glosses! I picked up the shade Cantaloupe Cream because I felt like it was a very pretty kind of coral/peachy shade that would be perfect for the summer as well as spring! I wasn't expecting them to be super pigmented like a liquid lipstick so I thought it would be a perfect natural shade.

I purchased one for $5.99+tax at my local Ulta, but since I purchased other things that totaled more than $10, I was able to use a $3.50 off $10 purch. coupon that they sent me with their catalogue, so make sure you become a member to get sent those great deals! Otherwise, there's always a coupon on their website so you can always go to ulta.com to check that out.

They state that this product is highly moisturizing and hydrating for your lips because of Vitamin E and oils such as avocado oil. It is also stated that this product will add color and is also in fact gluten-free, and hypoallergenic.

*On the ulta.com website, the color of "Cantaloupe Cream" is not true to color. The website shows a really vibrant and bright coral shade, but below is a more peachy, almost milky peach/coral color.

Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balm in Cantaloupe Cream
    The Claims:
ALMAY color + care liquid lip balm
    • Drenches lips with 2x hydration
    • Sheer shiny color
    • Combines the comfort and care of a balm with the flirty color and shine of a gloss
    • Instantly more than doubles lip hydration so lips feel twice as moisturized after use
    • Nearly triples lip hydration when worn throughout the day
    • Nourishes lips with oils like avocado and vitamin E
    • Available in 10 shades
    Source: Ulta.com

#700 in the shade Cantaloupe Cream
The color swatched on my wrist is a beautiful and fun peachy shade, almost coral. Before blending it out the color pigmentation appears very rich, dense, and creamy.
When I blended it it because more sheer and very shiny, especially when worn on the lips. It is still the peachy/corally shade.

This is the applicator. It is a soft and basic doe-footed applicator.

The ingredients list, if this image is hard to see, click to enlarge it. Otherwise, I will post the ingredients list below.

    Ingredients:
Polybutene, Petrolatum, Synthetic Flourphlogopite, Tribehenin, C10-30 Cholesterol, Lanosterol Esters, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower ) Seed Oil, Cera Alba ((Beeswax) cire d abeille), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Calcium aluminum Borosilicate, Palmitic Acid, Synthetic Wax, Aroma ((Flavor), Benzoic Acid, BHT.

MAY CONTAIN: Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Red 6 Lake (CI 15850), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Carmine (CI 75470), Blue 1 Lake (CI 47090), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Red 33 (CI 17200), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985).

Almay is known for having hypoallergenic products, which is a total bonus for me. I didn't have any kind of reaction to this product and I love it! It is super moisturizing, and the color is very sheer and light, but noticeable. The sheer peachy/coral shade really brightens up my face giving me a somewhat "glow". I feel as though this is perfect for school, or just going out since it is more on the natural side. It really is true to what it says, a liquid lip balm. I can't wait to purchase more!

    Until Next Time,
